Gravity
Node.js and React, the highest ticket on the board
Gravity is the highest ticket on this board and the oldest business behind any listing here. It is a Node.js and React foundation that has been sold and supported for years rather than launched last quarter, and it is priced accordingly.
What you get
- Subscription billing, authentication and social sign-on
- Teams and organisations, so B2B accounts are handled
- User management and a REST API
- Your choice of Postgres, MySQL, Mongo or SQLite, which is unusually open for a paid kit
- Documentation that buyers consistently mention before they mention the code
Why the price is the point
Most of this market competes on being cheap and fast. Gravity competes on being a maintained product with a business behind it, and the difference shows up two years in, when the kit you bought for a hundred dollars has not seen a commit since the framework you built on changed underneath you. Support and longevity are what the premium buys.
The trade-off
It is not on the Next.js path, so the enormous pool of Next.js-specific answers, components and tutorials does not apply. And the entry price is a real decision rather than an impulse, which for an unvalidated idea is money better spent finding out whether anyone wants it.
Buy it if
You are building something you intend to run for years, you want documentation and support that exist, and the database choice matters to you.
