SaaS Pegasus
The mature Django option, with teams, billing and an API
SaaS Pegasus has been around since 2020, which makes it the most mature Django SaaS boilerplate available and one of the longest-running products in this whole catalogue. For a Python shop, it is not really in competition with the Next.js kits: it is in a category of its own.
What you get
- User management, teams, subscription billing and an API layer
- Django's admin, plus the ecosystem around it
- Background tasks through Celery
- LLM integrations added in recent generations
- An HTMX option, if you want server-rendered pages without a heavy JavaScript frontend
What buyers actually talk about
The support and the community come up as often as the code. Purchase includes access to a Slack where the founder is present, and for a foundation you will live in for years, that is worth more than a feature checkbox.
The trade-off
Django has a smaller SaaS-specific ecosystem than Next.js, so there are fewer prebuilt integrations for the newest tools. If you are choosing a stack from scratch with no existing Python skill, that is a real consideration.
Buy it if
Python is a hard requirement, or your product is data-heavy enough that pandas and the scientific stack are a genuine advantage. Nothing else here comes close for that case.
