PocketStarter
PocketBase backend, Next.js front, Stripe billing
PocketStarter pairs Next.js with PocketBase, which is a genuinely different operational proposition: your backend is a single binary with an embedded database and an admin UI, not a hosted service with a monthly bill and a dashboard you do not control.
What you get
- Authentication, Stripe billing, analytics, marketing pages and SEO
- AI tooling in the listed features
- One of the lower prices on this board
- A backend you can run on a small VPS for the cost of a coffee
The trade-off
PocketBase is uncommon in this market, where Supabase leads by a wide margin. That means fewer tutorials, fewer people to ask and fewer prebuilt integrations. It also means you are operating the thing yourself: backups, upgrades and uptime are your job, not a vendor's. Scaling horizontally is a different conversation than with hosted Postgres.
Buy it if
You would rather run one binary than manage a hosted backend, you are comfortable with the operations that implies, and you value predictable infrastructure cost over convenience.
